Positive Petals- Peggy Dress

The Positive Petals Peggy Dress from Karina Dresses just screams Summer! This adorable red, white and blue print is so pretty. You can count on the high quality that you get with every Karina Dress as well. This is the first time I have worn the Peggy style and I really loved it! It features a collar on a v neck, which is a great look. It has a fitted waist and a flared skirt. The waistband is wide to give that added support and flattering effect. This pattern is part of the signature line of in house designed prints for Karina Dresses. The Peggy is sleeveless. Of course, it will be wrinkle free material that is perfect for your vacations! The dress is a win, win and I definitely recommend one for the season!
I was able to hit up a festival in my town the other night and I decided this was the dress I should wear.  I knew I would feel confident and comfortable wearing a Karina. I got to see some beautiful classic cars and local vendors. It was a great family night!

Karina Dresses are made for all body types and sizes! The great thing about them is that they pride themselves on being a body positive company. They range in sizes 0-24. I promise you will find a style and print that you will love!

Accessorizing this dress was fun for me!  I have some gorgeous red Atomic Boom Boomerang Brooches from Los Flamingo that I thought would look great with this print. You can see the fun detail in this closeup!

Earrings are Bow and Crossbones.

Nashville Boogie- Styling with Dolly and Dotty

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend the Nashville Boogie Weekender.  It is such a fun event! I was able to see so many Rockabilly legends perform and new Rockabilly bands that totally rock! I got to dress up in many outfits and wear boots with my dresses.  It was so much fun!  The Gaylord Opryland Hotel that the event is held at is absolutely gorgeous! There are so many photo opportunities there it's unreal!  The Atrium's are full of lush foliage, rivers, waterfalls and more.

Here is one of the looks I wore.  I wanted to wear this beautiful off the shoulder dress from Dolly and Dotty. It features a huge full circle skirt that I wore a petticoat under, a wide flattering waistband, short sleeves and button details on the shoulders.  This black dress with red and white roses really stands out!  It also has some blue details. It has a side concealed zipper. Of course being I Nashville, I had to wear boots!  Normally for a dress this gorgeous I would pair heels with it, but I loved the look of the boots too! You can wear this dress just about anywhere for any kind of occasion.  I think it's a perfect date night look. The Darlene Dress from Dolly and Dotty comes in several other colors too.

You can see just how beautiful the rose print is!

Dolly and Dotty can be found online and at stockist all over. Their dresses are available in UK sizes 6-24 and in the most pretty colors and designs! The quality is always top notch and I love wearing their clothing!

Blue Blossom- Lindy Bop

What a gorgeous unique dress Lindy Bop has come out with! This is a must have for your summer wardrobe! The Carola Blue Blossom Halter Swing Dress has fluffy white clouds on a pretty blue sky trimmed with pretty flowers and fireflies. You are going to feel like a Summer princess wearing it! I think it's a great choice to wear to a garden party or a wedding. I love the feel of the fabric too. It's a very soft matte poly mix that has a very comfortable stretch. The fitted top has padded bust and the halterneck ties. There is a hidden side zipper. I love the full swing skirt!  Lindy Bop has made the pleats lay perfectly with a box style.

You will get sunshine on a cloudy day when you put this Carola Dress on, I promise!

I had such a cotton candy light feeling from this dress, I had to go blonde with my hair for these pictures!

Loving how full the skirt is and how pretty the colors are!

You can order directly from Lindy Bop, where they ship worldwide. They also have their dresses available at stockists all over the world. You will be in awe at all of the choices you will have to make!  Keep an eye on the New In section, as they are constantly adding new designs and seasonal items. Cactus Denim by TiCCi Rockabilly

A couple of years ago I came across the most amazing dress maker, Stefania Agoston.  Her company is TiCCi Rockabilly and it's based out of Budapest, Hungary.  Her designs are all so unique!  She can custom make Rockabilly, Wedding, Pinup, Maternity and Men's clothing as well.  I have been over the moon with each dress I have received. This particular dress is definitely one of my all time favorites. It was made to wear to Nashville Boogie this year.  It's a perfect Rockabilly and Western theme. I love how the soft denim flows with the printed fabric down the middle and to trim the pockets. The cactus print is accompanied with boots, hats, lassos and peppers making it a very fun dress! The straps are like elastic suspenders with buttons to keep them fastened. I thought that was a very cool touch! Since these dresses are custom made, it's very important to get your correct measurements for that perfect fit. This dress has a fitted bodice with a back zipper and huge full circle skirt with plenty of room to add a petticoat if you would like. It's probably going to be a tough choice once you see how many options there are for you at TiCCi Rockabilly. You can order TiCCi dresses online at ticci.tu or they also have Etsy shop. You may be wondering why the CC's are capitol.  It's because Stefania is a huge fan of Coco Chanel and she felt that the presence of the C in her company name would give her strength. I think it certainly has, her clothing is remarkable! I recommend treating yourself to a special dress when the time comes, you will be glad you did!

My accessories for this look are wooden bangles and earrings from Splendette.  They are from the Tropicales Collection, but I liked the way they looked with this dress!

The hair flower is a double orchid in blue from Shazam Vintage Pin Up Hair Flowers.

I don't get to wear boots with my dresses very often, so when the opportunity comes up I take it! These are a slouchy western style that I actually found at Target.  It's a fun comfortable look for a change!

The possibilities are endless when it comes to styling with a novelty print dress.  Just remember to have fun and put your own twist and personality into it!

Rose Swing!

This new 50's Ursula Roses Swing Dress is absolutely lovely!  It's a must have addition to your Spring wardrobe. The dress is by Lady Voluptuous, a division of Lady V London. It is available exclusively at Top Vintage Retro Boutique. The pretty rose print is on a cream base fabric. The dress has a wrap style top and very full 50's swing skirt. I did add a petticoat for even more fullness!  The material does have a little stretch to it. It is very flattering with pleats on the bodice. Measure before you order and size up if you're in between. The dress is very comfortable to wear, but it's also sturdy so you look very well put together! I love it! The Ursula has a lined top and a hidden back zipper. You feel like a princess when you put it on. It's a perfect dress for a date or even to attend a wedding. This dress was designed in collaboration with the lovely Georgina Horne, blogger 'Fuller Figure Fuller Bust'. I think she nailed it!

The jewelry I am wearing is from Splendette and some of her items can be found at Top Vintage as well!  You will be amazed at how much is available on their site! It's a one stop shop for all of your pinup and vintage inspired needs. Worldwide shipping is available too!

Pinup Wedding Style

There are many ways to incorporate a pinup, vintage or rockabilly feel to your wedding style.  Here I have done more of a classic pinup or vintage feel. I had this dress from Lindy Bop that I thought could be a perfect wedding dress.  I could picture an afternoon garden wedding wearing this!  This particular cocktail style dress is really cute and could be styled many ways.  It features a sheer overlay and peplum overlay.  It has a fitted bodice and flared skirt.  The dress is sleeveless, but you could add a shrug and change up the look!  I really like the simplicity of this dress, so it leaves a lot of room to add the accessories of your choice.  I decided to go simple with a fun pop in leopard heels!  I'm wearing a vintage hat and pearl jewelry.  I even thought about doing blue heels for "something blue". I did not a petticoat, but there is certainly room to if you would want that look.

There are many vintage reproduction clothing companies that have options for wedding dresses. You'll just need to narrow down the style you are wanting.  Another option for a daytime wedding dress look is the halter neck style with a full circle skirt.  I think that is one of my favorite looks!  It's fun to add a pop of color in the belt and shoes with that style!  If you are wanting a more formal wedding, you could go very glamorous with a fishtail or mermaid style dress.  You could do an Old Hollywood theme wedding or even a dressy Rockabilly look with that style!  The possibilities are really endless in planning for your special day, just stay to yourself and you will shine!

A Timeless Trudy- Karina Dresses

It's time again for a great review of a new Trudy Dress from Karina Dresses!  This has quickly become one of my favorite dresses to style. Karina Dresses are absolutely perfect for the warm weather. They are lightweight and wrinkle free, but they have a dressy classic look too! I am loving this new print, Rosy Posy. It's so cute! The little dainty red flowers are outlined in blue patterns and it's a really catchy look. It will be great for Spring and Summer outings. The Trudy is dressy enough for weddings and parties or fun enough for picnics or just running around town. This style has a full coverage sweetheart neckline and a fitted waistband. I love the little capped sleeves on the Trudy as well!

This red, white and blue beauty is an American made dress in the Hudson Valley, NY. Women of all shapes and sizes can enjoy wearing this style and all of the styles that Karina Dresses offers! All of the dresses I have tried have been so well made and flattering.  I am constantly impressed by the new prints too! I love colors and fun, so they are right up my alley. The Trudy dress is available in many prints in sizes 0-24.

I wore my favorite red vintage hat and beads for this look. I liked the way it came together, it's a bit different than my usual look. I also added some fun red glasses for a change!
