Tropical Heat- Lady V London

Lady V London is turning up the heat with the Tropical Heat Tea Dress!  This is a sizzling number you need to add to your summer wardrobe.  The print is vibrant palms and hibiscus on a dark background that's sure to make you a tiki goddess!  I love the high neckline and v-cut back on this style, it's a great twist on style.  The Tea Dress features a fitted waist, with a tie belt for a cute bow in the back.  The length is just above the knee and the skirt is very full.  You can really enjoy this dress for vacations, parties and any other special occasion where a little tropical feel is needed.  I'm actually always down for a tropical inspired look!  This style from Lady V is available in sizes 8-22.  The quality is exceptional as always!

Made in England with the modern lady in mind, you'll be assured that your items will have a great fit and design. The vintage reproduction dress from Lady V London are always top choices of mine!

Oh thanks, it has pockets!!!!!!!!!!!

Bright, colorful accessories were a must for this look,  I am thrilled with my new 40's inspired Luxulite Banana Garland necklace and earrings.  It's such a perfect summer set!  This is the pink set and it is also available in green.  The Luxulite designer Katy had one of her favorite icons, Carmen Miranda, in mind for this set!  Her items are handmade and all very unique.  You can find the collections on Etsy.

I wore a stack of Splendette bangles in assorted colors too! Of course a large hair flower from Shazam Pin Up Hair Flowers was necessary. I love this one with orchids and peppers for extra spice! My heels are from Bettie Page Shoes in the Aria style. The pink Lola Von Rose vintage inspired bag was the perfect choice to tie it all together.

Palava- Light Blue Lobster

I am thrilled with my very first dress from Palava!  This Beatrice Cap Sleeves style with the Light Blue Lobster print is just perfect for Summer!  This dress is great for all body types. It has a fit and flare shape and is so light and comfortable to wear.  The Beatrice is fully lined with cotton and the dress is made with organic cotton sateen.  I mean it's really soft!  It also has pockets, which everyone loves!  I love the modest neckline and cap sleeves.  This is a dress you can wear to any function or work and feel very put together in.  It's fun, yet classic!  You will also get the tie belt and you can style it as you wish.  It's a great length too, hitting below the knee.

The gorgeous lobster print was hand illustrated and designed by Palava founder Bryony.  That is the case with all of their designs actually!  When you look at their collections, the prints will definitely stand out to you!  They are so unique and pretty. Palava also strives to make their production environmentally friendly!  They aim to use sustainable fabrics and have zero waste.  It's a win, win shopping with them!  Your order will also include an adorable storybook.  My daughter loved it too!  Palava writes a new storybook for each collection that they release.

Passed down through generations since 1854, Strickland and Holt was a family business that has a long history and has evolved into what is Palava now.  I highly recommend reading their history on the website.  It's very fascinating!  Thankfully Bryony had her vision for the clothing we love today and she has carried on the family tradition of designing. I am looking forward to what the future holds for Palava!

The Charlene Shirtwaister Dress from Rock n Romance is the perfect summer dress that can take you all the way in to fall!  It's a gorgeous African Daisy Print and the color combination is great! I love this 1950's style.  It is so comfortable and fits great too.  One cool thing about this dress is with the buttons, it has fabric that goes beyond the closure so there is never any gap between them!  It's perfect for ladies with curves!  You'll get the beautiful red buttons and a perfectly matching belt with this dress as well.  The sleeves fit very nicely and have pleated details for a classy touch.  You can wear this modest, yet stunning dress day to night and feel like a million bucks!  I definitely see more Shirtwaister Dresses in my future!  There are a couple of other prints to choose from in this style.  This one is limited edition though, so get it while you can!

Daisy May Denim- Voodoo Vixen

The Daisy May Denim Dress from Voodoo Vixen was the perfect dress for one of my looks at Nashville Boogie that I just attended.  I absolutely love everything about it!  The fit, the style, the pockets...it's amazing!  You'll want this for a staple in your summer wardrobe.  Denim is a favorite of mine and I'm so glad to have a denim dress that I love now.  The neckline is a modest sweetheart cut.  It features a fitted bodice with elastic stretch panels for extra comfort.  I love the flared skirt and it's perfect for twirling!  The straps are adjustable as well.  Now for the best part, the adorable daisy trim!  It's so pretty!  You can get this dress in sizes S-4XL.  Voodoo Vixen really knows how to design some gorgeous clothing.  They have a whole new Spring and Summer collection that is full of high quality, pretty and comfortable vintage reproduction clothing.  They are definitely one of my favorites to feature and I highly recommend them. They take classic styles and make them for modern women.  Voodoo Vixen is based out of the UK, but available at shops and web shops all over the globe!

I decided to pair the Daisy May with red, blue and yellow accessories.  I love that combo!  I wore a red straw western style hat.  I was in Nashville after all!  My hair flower is made by Shazam Pinup Hair Flowers with daisy and navy flowers and it was a perfect match!  I wore my Imogen Hoops in red from Bow and Crossbones and a mix of bangles from Splendette and Bow and Crossbones.  The red heels are by Lola Ramona and are super comfortable and extremely stylish.  Lola Ramona is known for their fun quirky style!  The Angie in Love is a great summer heel with snake embossed leather and fun bow detail on the heel.

The Nashville Boogie was fun, full of great music and people watching.  It takes place at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and if you have never been there, it's worth the trip!  The hotel is just gorgeous.  We always enjoy walking through the atrium and looking at all of the waterfalls, flowers and palm trees!

Viva Las Vegas 21

In April I had the pleasure of attending Viva 21 and it lived up to everything I had imagined!  It was five days of non-stop music, shows, pinups, fashion and fun!  I tried to take everyone's advice and wear the right shoes, but I ended up with blisters by the first day.  That was my only complaint the whole time. As I sit here and recall all of the highlights, it really is worth the trip if you have never gone.  I told myself and my husband from the beginning that I didn't want to plan every minute and I really wanted to enjoy the music and people watching.  I would have to say that was the right thing to do, as it's impossible to see everything anyway.  I made a list of my must do's and the rest we played by ear.  We were able to catch some amazing bands and watch swing dancers twice our age that put us to shame.  We laughed at ourselves every night as we struggled to keep up with sleep and they were dancing like crazy.  It was so fun to see though!  Some of my favorite bands and performers were the Starjays, Delta Bombers (amazing!), Danny McVey (so good!), Little Lesley & the Bloodshots (love her!) and Matt & the Peabody Ducks.  Those are just a few that stand out in my memory, but let's talk about the headliners at the car show.  We saw the legendary Jerry Lee Lewis and he put on a great show!  It was an honor to see him perform. The Stray Cats were fantastic, just as I had expected.  That is one of the bands that I grew up listening to and to see them as an adult was really a nostalgic feeling!  Speaking of the car show, there were hundreds of gorgeous cars to look at.  It was cool to see more of the west coast style that we don't see here often.  Shopping was definitely happening at the car show too!  There were tons of vendors and it was so exciting meeting some of the owners of companies that I have worked with over the years.  One of my favorites is Bow and Crossbones and I was able to meet Cam the amazing boss lady there!  She was a sweetheart for sure. The pinup contest was on my list of course, so it was one of the highlights of Saturday.  I admire them for being so confident in front of so many people!  During one of the meet ups, I was able to meet Miss Victory Violet.  She is an inspiration for many, so beautiful and kind!  I ran into The Ginger Pinup several times, she lives in Atlanta too, so it was nice to have another local lady there! Her true vintage style is gorgeous.

Style and fashion is a huge part of the event too, with everyone going all out for their looks.  The fashion show on Friday afternoon was great.  The designers put so much love into their work it was fun to see it put to life with models and music.  I would have to say Ains & Elke Stylehaus doing a Disney theme was memorable and gorgeous to watch.  The Swearing Parrot was really fun too and our friends from Indiana, The Dirty Greaser and Michelle were in the show.  Retro-Verte had some beautiful designs too!  I planned all of my outfits weeks ahead of time and it was fun to finally wear them.  I didn't change five times a day like some though!  I did a day and evening look for the most part.  I wore designs from Ticci Rockabilly, Hearts and Found, Gatsbylady London, Vivien of Holloway, Karina Dresses, My Vintage Look and Trashy Diva.  While I was there I did some promoting for Trashy Diva and me and Joey wore a matching outfit!  It was fun and a big hit!  He also repped Grease Inc. in one of the embroidered shop shirts.  The pool party Sunday was another great time and fun for people watching and meeting people.  The drinks were delicious too!  Some of the vintage swimsuits were amazing!

We also took some time for sightseeing in Vegas and took a couple of trips to the Arts District for antiquing and checking out local bars.  ReBar is one that stood out where you can buy anything they have on display.  It was a unique bar!  We also caught a burlesque show at the theater in the backyard there.

I think if you have never been to a Viva, put it on your bucket list!  I hope to make it back one day. I wouldn't change a thing from this trip.

Bold Blooms- Karina Dresses

I may have just found my new favorite Karina Dresses style!  This is the Tara Dress in Bold Blooms.  The Tara is a longer mid calf length dress that is a great pick for summer!  I love the style and comfort of this dress.  It does not have a waistband, so the material flows freely and comfortably.  I love the modest full coverage of the chest too!  It has a gorgeous sweetheart neckline with pleated details.  I feel like this style has everything that a woman could ask for in a dress!  You can look fab at a special lunch or an evening date.  As always Karina Dresses are wrinkle free, so perfect for traveling.  I just took it with me to the Nashville Boogie and it was ready to wear when I got there!  It looked perfect for the tropical gardens in the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  It's a picture perfect location, everywhere you turn!  I definitely recommend a trip there if you have never been.

The Tara Dress and all Karina Dresses are made with love in the Hudson Valley, NY.  Right here in the USA!  They are available in sizes XS-XXL.  The material is a microfiber and always wrinkle free!  This style is available in a few different prints as well.

I accessorized with a large tropical hair flower from Jazzafine. pieces full of verve and bangles and earrings from Bow and Crossbones and Splendette.  Tropical themes are definitely my favorite and Karina Dresses always has prints that will compliment that style!
